How it all works

Training module 1: what the platform does, who uses it and what a relationship manager does.

This is the first module of your relationship manager training. Read it, then go back to Training in your account and mark it done (or take its quiz, if it has one).

What TradeBroken is#

TradeBroken keeps a shop's books and stock in one place. A shop records what it buys, what it sells and the cash it takes, and TradeBroken works out what the stock is worth, what the shop made and what it owes. Shops can also show their stock on the marketplace, so buyers nearby can find an item, see the price and call or WhatsApp the shop.

Shops pay TradeBroken a registration fee to start and then renew their plan to keep using it. A shop that stops paying is given some grace time, then loses access until it pays again.

Who uses it#

  • The owner sets the shop up, adds branches and staff, and sees everything, including money.
  • Branch managers and staff see what their role allows: selling, receiving stock, counting.
  • Relationship managers (you) help shops get started and stay with it, and can be booked to count a shop's stock independently. You never see a shop's books, costs, prices or money.

What a relationship manager does#

  1. Brings shops on board. You share your code, or set a shop up for the owner. See Bringing a shop on board.
  2. Keeps them going. A shop that renews keeps paying you. Call the owners whose time is running out; your dashboard lists them.
  3. Counts stock. A shop can book you to count its stock, and the count carries an independent certificate a lender can check. See Counting stock for a shop.

You're paid a share of what your shops pay and most of the fee for a booked count. See How you earn and get paid.

Where you are now#

Your account goes through these steps, and your home screen always shows which one you're on:

  1. Applied. TradeBroken reviews your application.
  2. Training fee. Once accepted you may be asked to pay a training fee by MoMo.
  3. In training. You work through these modules. Each one is a page on this website.
  4. Approved. You're active: your code works, and you can set up shops and take bookings.

Words you'll hear#

  • Your code, like RM-7K3FQ: it links a shop to you.
  • Registration fee: what a new shop pays first.
  • Renewal: a shop paying for more time.
  • Grace period: a few days after a shop's paid time ends when it can still renew without losing anything.
  • Booking (or engagement): a shop paying, through TradeBroken, for you to count its stock.
  • Certificate: the record of an approved stock count, with a code anyone can check.
