Terms of service

Last updated 19 October 2026

Draft. This page is being reviewed and may change before TradeBroken launches. Questions? Contact us.

These terms are the agreement between you and TradeBroken when you use the TradeBroken website, the shop and relationship manager apps, the marketplace and the mobile app. By opening a shop, joining one, or using the service, you agree to them.

TradeBroken is operated by [Company legal name], [registered address], Ghana.

Your account#

  • Give true details and keep them up to date. Your mobile number must be your own.
  • Keep your password and any texted code to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with your account.
  • The shop owner decides who joins the shop and what they can do, and is responsible for their staff's use of TradeBroken.
  • Tell us straight away through the contact form if you think someone else is using your account.

Fees and payment#

  • A shop pays a registration fee and then a monthly fee, shown on our pricing page and before you pay. Prices may change; a change applies from your next payment, never to time you've already paid for.
  • Payment is by Mobile Money in Ghana cedis.
  • If a renewal is late, you have a grace period. After it, the shop becomes read-only until you pay: you can see your records but can't add new ones. We don't delete a shop's records for late payment.
  • Fees already paid aren't refunded, except where the law requires or we say otherwise (for example a cancelled booked count that was paid).
  • Booked stock counts by a relationship manager are paid separately, per booking.

Your shop's records#

  • Your shop's data belongs to your shop. We store and process it to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy.
  • You're responsible for what you record being accurate and lawful. TradeBroken calculates totals and reports from what you enter.
  • Closed months stay closed so records can be trusted; corrections are made as new entries.

Certificates and lender packs#

A stock count certificate or lender pack shows the shop's records as they were when it was approved or issued, and its code lets anyone check it hasn't been changed. It is not an audit or a valuation, and TradeBroken doesn't guarantee the business's condition. A count marked "Independent relationship manager" was carried out by a TradeBroken relationship manager booked for it.

The marketplace#

  • A shop chooses what it lists. Listings must be true, legal and in stock.
  • Sales happen between the buyer and the shop. TradeBroken isn't a party to them and isn't responsible for the goods, their price or their delivery.
  • We may remove a listing or hide a shop that breaks these terms or that we're told is misleading or unlawful.

Relationship managers#

Relationship managers are independent; they aren't TradeBroken employees. Their work, training and earnings are covered by separate relationship manager terms they accept when they join. A shop is free to work with a relationship manager or not.

Fair use#

Don't:

  • break the law, or use TradeBroken to deceive anyone,
  • try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or disrupt the service,
  • copy, resell or scrape the service or other shops' data,
  • send us spam or false reports.

Availability#

We work to keep TradeBroken running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We'll tell you about planned maintenance when we can.

Our responsibility#

To the extent the law allows, TradeBroken isn't liable for indirect losses (like lost profit), and our total liability to a shop is limited to the fees it paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

Ending#

You can stop using TradeBroken at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, telling you why where we can. Before a shop closes, the owner can ask us for a copy of its records.

Changes#

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll tell account holders in advance. Continuing to use TradeBroken after a change means you accept it.

Law#

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana decide any dispute. Before that, please contact us: most things are resolved by talking.
