Bringing a shop on board

Training module 2: your code, setting a shop up for its owner, and keeping your shops paying.

A shop becomes yours in one of two ways. Either way, you earn from it for as long as it keeps paying. You can do both once you're approved.

Way 1: the owner registers with your code#

Give the owner your code (it's on your home screen, with a button to share it). When they register their shop on TradeBroken, they type the code in the relationship manager code box. The form shows your first name when the code is right, so they know it worked.

  • Only an active relationship manager's code works.
  • The owner sets everything up themselves: shop name, their email and password.

Way 2: you set the shop up for them#

Good for an owner who'd rather you did it with them, in their shop.

  1. Go to Shops → Set up a shop.
  2. Enter the shop's name and the owner's name, phone and email. Add the shop's phone and address if you have them.
  3. Save. The owner gets a text with a link to finish.
  4. The owner opens the link, enters their own email and chooses their own password. That also confirms their phone, and they're signed in.

Until the owner finishes, the shop shows Invite pending in your list.

  • The link works for 7 days, and only once.
  • If it expires or gets lost, use Resend link on the shop. The old link stops working. You can resend three times a day.
  • You can set up at most 20 shops a day, and only one invitation can be waiting per phone number.

Then the shop pays#

The shop pays its registration fee as usual, by MoMo or card. Your share is earned when the payment is confirmed. A shop that hasn't paid shows as waiting for payment on your home screen: those are the owners to follow up.

Keeping your shops#

Your home screen shows your shops in groups:

  • Paying: all good.
  • Waiting for payment: set up but not paid yet.
  • Lapsed: their paid time ran out. Call them. Your renewal earnings depend on how many of your shops renew (see How you earn and get paid).

You can see each shop's owner and their phone so you can call about payment. You never see a shop's sales, stock or money.

Good habits#

  • Help the owner add their branches, staff and products before you leave, so they start using it straight away.
  • Show them the help pages on this website, starting with Register your shop.
  • Don't promise anything TradeBroken doesn't offer, and don't take any payment for TradeBroken in cash. Shops pay TradeBroken directly.
