How you earn and get paid

Training module 4: registration and renewal shares, booked counts, the hold and MoMo payouts.

You earn from three things. The rates below are today's; TradeBroken can change them for new earnings, and what you've already earned keeps its rate.

1. Registration: 30%#

When a shop you brought on board pays its registration fee, you earn 30% of it, as soon as the payment is confirmed.

2. Renewals: a monthly rate that follows how many shops stay#

Each time one of your shops renews, you earn a share. Renewals are added up and settled once a month, after the month ends. The rate depends on retention: of your shops whose paid time ended that month, how many renewed within their grace period.

Retention that monthYour rate

40% to 59%4%
Below 40%2%
  • Fewer than 5 shops due in a month: you get the top rate.
  • Stay active. If in the last 90 days none of your shops made its first payment and you had no stock count approved, your rate is halved.
  • Shops that are suspended or closed still count as due and not renewed.

So the best way to earn more is to keep your shops paying: call owners whose time is running out.

3. Booked stock counts: most of the fee#

For a count a shop books and pays for through TradeBroken, you get 85% of the fee. Your share is fixed when you accept the booking and is earned when the shop approves the counts.

When you can be paid#

  • The hold. Every earning waits 14 days (the window for a shop to get a refund) before you can be paid. A renewal waits 14 days from when its month is settled, so it can be up to about 7 weeks after the shop paid.
  • Refunds. If a payment is refunded, its earning is taken back. Your available balance can go below zero for a while after a refund.
  • Payouts go by MoMo to your confirmed phone, from GHS 20 up. Set the name on your MoMo account in your profile so the payment reaches you.

Reading your dashboard#

  • This month so far is provisional: what you'd earn if the month ended today.
  • Waiting is earned but still in the 14-day hold.
  • Available is what can be paid out now.
  • Earnings lists every entry: earned, taken back, paid out and any corrections.
